HOW DO I KNOW IF I COULD BENEFIT FROM THERAPY
A great question.
If you're thinking
of seeing a therapist but are not sure whether therapy is right
for you, here are some questions that may help you decide:
- Is there
some part of your life that is not going well, some way in which
you feel "stuck" or unable to move forward?
- Is something
going on in your life that is causing you great distress or emotional
pain?
- Does your
life feel out of control?
- Do you feel
angry all the time or sad all the time?
- Do you feel
numb, that your life is just humdrum or "blah"?
- Are your
relationships with family, friends, or coworkers a constant source
of frustration?
- Have you
had a major loss (such as a death, divorce, separation, or job
loss) and you feel you just can't get back on your feet?
- Do you have
difficulty sleeping?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, it is likely that you could benefit
from therapy or counseling. Helpful Websites:
